This film shows a girl guides weekend at Raywell near Hull. With the guides engaged in awards ceremonies games, a communal bonfire and kayaking.
The film opens on a misty view of a camping site on a dull day, with cars and tents scattered over an open field.
Several campers put up some large tents; others make secure some of the ropes that support smaller tents already erected.
A senior guide along with a younger helper, pour cups of tea on a table which also has large tins of food on it. In another part of the camp another large tent is erected.
A change of view as some of the guides engage in a game of rounders.
Another day and an improvement in the weather as sunshine bathes the campsite and the Union Jack flag is hoisted. The camera moves around the camp showing a few of the tents that have been erected.
Members of the camp gather around an open fire, some guides may have some of their family visiting the camp. The guides then organise themselves into lines and give a special salute as the Union Jack and the Guides flag are carried past.
Four senior guides stand in a line, one of them speaks to the gathering. A guide from the assembly goes to the senior guide that has been speaking and is given an award. The recipient and the senior guide pose for the camera.
The recipient then stands in front of the guides with the flags and holds the written award towards the camera. The guides carry the flags away from the assembly.
More views follow of guides and others sitting on logs in front of the open fire; they sing and play games.
The guides stand to attention in the camp as three of them march forward and unfurl the union flag on the camp flagpole. The guides sing as the flag flies.
The film moves on to the taking down of the camp, with many items being packed into tea chests and boxes. Tents, sleeping bags and ground mats are rolled up. The few remaining tents are taken down and cars are used to take equipment away, a Triumph Herald has its roof rack packed with equipment.
The film moves on to the guides out on a river or boating lake testing their kayak skills. The film ends as one of the girls wearing a life jacket, climbs out from the water onto the concrete supported bank.
