There are views of 1960s school builds as well as pupils in a classroom, a dining hall and taking part in a Physical Educational (PE) class in a hall.

The inner courtyard of a 1960’s school changes to a classroom with some children sitting at their desks while other either sit on their desks or tables around the cameraperson. At the back of he room a female teacher.
Walking in pairs children come out of a school building passing through the courtyard seen previously. From a playing fields the exterior of several school buildings changes to a group of children coming out of a building and rushing towards the camera.

In a cafeteria a line of primary school age children. Several children carrying plates of food walk through a large room or hall past both adults and children standing around. Planted trees inside the courtyard changes to children sitting around long tables in the hall seen previous.
Outside a group of children rest against a wooden fence, on one side a sports field and the other school buildings.
Inside a school building a stairway changes to a classroom where some children are watching a puppet show, while several boys at the back of the class polish cricket bats. Several girls sit reading, in the corner of the room two older boys doing woodwork at a bench.
A man comes down a set of stone steps away from a large house or hall changes to a view of Durham Cathedral in the distance.
Back at the school children climb over various pieces of exercise equipment in a sports hall. Several boys swing across a set of monkey-bars while other walks over the top. In another part of the hall children climb over a frame, one girl comes down a slide.

Still in the gymnasium the children sit or stand around the camera, they are joined by an older woman who stands chatting with some of the children.

The film ends in a suburban street a woman washing a car.
