Inside the theatre a darkened stage. A piano begins to play as the lights come up to reveal the stage and set. Male and female ballet dancers of various ages appear and perform for the audience the story of young girl, Marie Stahlbaum, who’s favourite Christmas toys, the Nutcracker, comes alive and, after defeating the Mouse King in battle, whisks here away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls.
The performance over the audience applauds as the cast take a bow. The house lights come up and the audience get up to leave.
