In a street a man hands out pieces of paper to a crowd of children standing around him, bunting hangs down between two houses. Three children dressed as Beatrix Potter characters walk along a street. They sit on a decorative float alongside other costumed characters and are drive off.
A woman walks along a suburban street carrying a large bouquet attached to a pole which she holds in the air. Adults and children gather around several decorative floats parked in the road. Two women walk past umbrellas open. The woman seen previous with the bouquet walks along a street, others follow behind.
The decorative floats are driven along a street, other characters in costume walk beside their respective floats. A group of Morris Dancers performs in the road, a small crowd watches. Behind them tables have been set up in the street. A brass band performs in the road as women sell cups of tea from a table nearby. The pavements is crowded with visitors.
Various stalls and games are set up along the road with visitors looking over produce for sale or games to play. One stall is selling house plants, a game nearby asks people to smash plates. Several musicians march in a line along a road, a boy plays a golfing game in which he must hit a ball through a small hole to win. Two men sit astride a pole hitting each other with pillows is followed by a young girl coming down a slide. A crowd gathers around a group of children dancing around a Maypole changes to children riding past in homemade go-karts.
A couple stand smiling outside a large building. On a grass area nearby two bagpipe players perform. A group of women in historic costumes walks past changing to them applauding as a series of men come to the end of a race or marathon.
On a grassed area in front of the building seen previously the women in costume stand beside costumed men, they begin to ballroom dance. The film changes to a Scotting pipe band performing for the watching crowd. The performance ends and they pose for a camera beside their instruments.
Two women sit in a garden, one is knitting. Nearby a third man work on a garden with a young woman. They work together to drag a large sack of weeds across the lawn.
A family group sit around a long garden table chatting changes to a different table in a different garden around which three women are chatting over tea. A man in a colourful shirt stands beside a car, an older woman with a camera takes photographs. A young couple sit on a stone wall, one is reading the other writing in journal.
A crowd makes their way across a large lawned area changes to another crowd watching as the Royal car pulls up outside a building. Queen Elizabeth II steps out of the car to be greeted by a man in mayoral chains. The Queen is introduced to a number of guests, the Royal Standard flies from a flagpole.
On a field groups of men and boys, some in kilts stand in lines. Queen Elizabeth holding an umbrella is escorted out onto the field where she plants a tree. The crowds dispersing changes to a library and a display case in it.
In a garden two women sit under a tree, one of them is eating a desert. A man mows a lawn around a series of trees.
A baby looks into the camera while putting a wooden toy in his mouth. In a garden a family sit around a table eating, the baby plays on a blanket nearby. The baby sits in his mother’s lap as she continues to chat with those around her.
Children play in a garden watched over by their mother changes to a man working on a red Citroen 2 CV car. The family sit around a table eating, a cat lays on the grass nearby. A boy sits on a step reading, a man lays in a hammock. A woman comes over and the two of them walk away and begin to pick fruits from a bush. A boy and girl play on a balance-board, a woman comes to help one of them. On the lawn the family play a game of croquet.
At a swimming pool two children come down a slide headfirst. They play happily in the water jumping in from a diving board. In a field a tractor unloads a wagon full of of earth, a digger works nearby. Back at the pool the children continue having fun in the water, they are joined by two others who also have an inflatable dinghy.
A family sit around an outdoor table enjoying a meal changes to them playing a game of croquet on a lawn. A woman watches from a veranda, she is reading a book.
