A home move produced by John Scott Forsyth featuring wife Joanna and their three children Rosemary, Angus and Richard. Filmed during the summer of 1966, it features the Forsyth’s both at home in Sedgefield as well as with friends and family enjoying the hot weather and keeping cool in a private swimming pool, a river as well as the sea, possibly near Marske-by-the-Sea. Beside a river a fire is lit, and sausages are cooked on it. Joanna and Richard Forsyth, plus a number of other people, enjoy their picnic. Richard and another boy play near the river. Beside a car a young man pours a liquid into spoon, the two boys come over and look at it. Several items are placed onto a stone wall.
A group of hikers stand around a man atop a foggy summit listing to him speak. A number of them look down on the ground, standing beside them a woman holding a megaphone. A few of the walkers heads off along a track while the rest watch their departure. In a field small groups huddle together possibly looking at maps laid out on the ground. Some of the group walk across a rocky outcrop.
Two couple stand chatting in a garden of a county house. A stream flows nearby, they make their way through an inner courtyard past a parked car. The two women stand beside a set of steps smoking changing to the group now sitting in deckchairs in the sun chatting. Another couple arrives, they all stand around the lawn area chatting. The three women, including Joanna, go exploring the garden.
A group of people make their way into a large house, through another set of doors they all come out again changing to two men, one in vestments, speaking with someone seated in a car. A number of well-dressed men and woman stand around outside the building chatting. A young man stands chatting to a priest who wears a large cross around his neck. General views both inside and out of people standing around chatting.
In a hall a graduation ceremony with a young man in a gown coming forward to collect a certificate from man on a small, raised platform. Following the ceremony, the graduating class walking out of the hall together. Outside again, people standing around chatting. In a classroom a young man shows a woman a set of drawing or plans.
Joanna, Angus and Richard watch two Swans with their signets swim past along a river. Richard and his friends erect a tent in the family garden at Sedgefield. Angus throws a baseball at Richard who catches it in his mitt. In their swimming trunks the boys play with a hose spraying each other with water.
At a traction engine rally Richard looks over a miniature traction engine on display. He walks around the field at the other engines on display as well as a steam calliope. Joanna buys him a golly-wog balloon as the traction engines move into formation on a showground with three pairs of engines tied together with rope. A man drops a flag, and the engines speed off in one direction before being pulled back in the other by the other engine. General views of more engines on display.
In a garden Richard and two older girl play catch. A family group including Richard and Joanna go for a walk towards a river where they go swimming in the water. Joanna watches from the bank.
A bride gets into a car while her guests walk along a drive to their cars, many with umbrella’s up from the rain.
A Mini-Cooper van reverses along a drive, Rosemary Forsyth tries to get in before walking away. She stands in the doorway of the family home besides her mother and brothers. The van is packed with items, the van drive away.
Children dive and swim in a concrete swimming pool building in the garden of a large house. John Forsyth and another man jump in the pool before chasing Richard around the garden.
Item from a car and taken into a house changes to Forsyth’s sitting drinking outside the ‘Surrey Yeoman’ public house in Dorking.
Two families come out of a house into a garden walking a gate into a field where a caravan is parked. Scarfs and hooded jacket are taken from an open top sports car parked in the field and put on by the group who then watch as the caravan is attached to the car.
At a wedding well-dressed guests make their way into a church before re-appearing following the service. At the reception the bride and groom stand beside their wedding cake watched by their guests. Outside the wedding party stand around chatting.
A couple walking along a fast-flowing river changes to Richard and several other children playing with a model aeroplane or glider in the field behind the family home. Some of the children ride on a toy wagon, one girl is pushed around the field by several boys.
Joanna and Richard stand on a stone bridge, Richard throws stones in the water below. Joanna and older man walk around the garden of a large country house.
The film ends on beach, possibly near Marske-by-the-Sea where children in bathing costumes paddling around in the sea and playing in the sand.
