A home move produced by John Scott Forsyth of a family camping holiday to the south of France featuring wife Joanna and their three children Rosemary, Angus and Richard. On their way to their campsite, they visit a number of historic sites including Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct and the Palais des Papes at Avignon. Passengers onboard a ferry watch as they depart Dover before arriving in a French port. The boat docks, a ramp is lowered and vehicles begins to drive off. The family visit a local cemetery to visit a war grave.
Angus and Richard Forsyth stand atop the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct with views of the river Garden below. Richard races around the interior of the aqueduct followed by the ruins of a fort or castle built atop a rocky outcrop. Joanna, wearing a headscarf, looks down on a small down or village below her. Richard continues to race around the rocky hillside.
The family look up at the remains of a large Roman archway, nearby a tower. A woman paints or draws the artwork around the base of the archway. The family walks around the ruin of a historic site, a workman with a shovel works nearby, as well as a windmill and a church. From a tower Richard looks down on a town below as well as the sea. A large tower at the corner of a city wall which the family walk along.
Richard, Angus, sister Rosemary sit beside their mother at an outdoor café table as they are served drinks. They visit other historical site including the Palais des Papes at Avignon with Richard climbing over ancient walls. In an arena Richard watches a matador practice with his cloak. Richard plays in a playground before sitting beside his sister in the shade. More historic sites and castles in the area are visited. Richard and Rosemary dance on the battlements of a fort overlooking a river. The family cross a bridge over the river and Richard stands beside a donkey in the road. He feeds it bread from a baguette. Beside a set of church bells, they look out across a river.
At a campsite Angus walks past carrying a sack, on the water Richard rides a paddleboard. A crowded beach with Angus and Rosemary walking past in bathing costumes. From the campsite the blue water of the sea in the near distance.
The family visit a small amphitheatre before sitting beside their tents erected in a wooded area. Richard looks at a colourful butterfly sitting on a leaf. The family enjoy drinks at an outdoor bar before visiting a local shop. Richard comes out carrying a fresh baguette.
Back on the beach Angus rides a paddleboard beaching it onto the sand. Joanna and Richard climb on and Angus pushes them back into the sea before paddling away.
Angus and Rosemary walk along a shaded path near the campsite, on the beach Richard plays in the sand. Inside the family tent Richard, now in his pyjamas is read a story by Angus. The film changes back to the beach with the family sunbathing or on the paddleboard. Rosemary and Richard use a wave board in the choppy surf. Beside the tent Rosemary and Angus play tennis.
On the balcony at Chateau Yauem overlooking a garden a group stand chatting before coming down a set of steps. On a veranda a group of friends sit around a table enjoying glasses of white wine. A meal is served and enjoyed by the group.
In Paris the family walk along a busy boulevard past a crowd attempting to enter a large building. From a bridge Richard looks down on the river Seine below. At a building site Richard watches workmen standing beside a conveyor. They sit at an outdoor cafe table, in the near distance Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral. Joanna and Richard walk along the Seine before taking the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Outside a restaurant the family meet friends, and the film ends with Richard looking out from a ship leaving port.
