A woman and two children gather around a toddler who is standing up inside his crib. The boy and girl play with the toddler on the floor, now on his feet he walks cautiously around the crib and plays with his toys. The woman pushes him in a pushchair along a path beside the East River, in the distance a bridge crossing it.
From the stands inside a baseball stadium a group of men gather around the home plate, a team of baseball players stands to one side before coming forward and also standing around the home plate. A game gets underway with a number of balls being pitched several being hit by the batter before running to first base. The game is filmed from a different part of the stadium, large crowds fill the two-tier stands. The game appears to end with the batting team rushing of the pitch ahead of the crowds running onto it. They run inside passing under a large billboard signs for Knickerbocker beer. Large crowds wonder around the field, some of the crowd gather around an individual push and pulling him towards the stands, he walks back onto the pitch where a photographer takes his picture, some of the crowd follows him. Now on the pitch itself a large crowd gather around the entranceway down to the locker room under the billboard for Knickerbocker. One man climbs up and puts a sign on a wall, possibly the numbers ‘483ft’, an older man comes out onto a set of steps overlooking the crowd and waves at them.
Inside Central Park the toddler and boy sit on grass playing together, the child crawling on all fours. The film changes to a car parked beside a lake and his feeding the child while a man smokes a cigarette nearby. A picnic is laid out on the car bonnet and other in the group begin to eat. The leaves on a tree beside a church have turned autumnal brown, looking at the scene a man and boy. The boy plays in the fallen leaves with the toddler watched by two women. An older man and woman look at a map on the bonnet of the car, a woman gets into the car. The woman and boy walk along a path past a large white house pushing the toddler in a pushchair. They take him out of the chair and help him take a drink from a water fountain.
A large crowd watches a marching band parade along 5th Avenue in New York City, following behind women in army uniform and soldiers with their rifles slung across their shoulders. A platoon of Marines passes the crowds followed by a naval marching band. Tickertape is thrown into the air as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh are driven past slowly. Police on horseback flank the traffic which travels along 5th Avenue.
A crowd has gathered outside a church as a number of men in vestments go inside, a Union Jack flies beside the entrance. A large crowd of spectators either try to get a look at the Royal couple on a distant platform outside a large building or walk past trying to find a better position, some are carrying Union Jack’s. The spectacle over the crowds begin to disburse, the gutter filled with tickertape which is being swept up by a street sweeper. From a window overlooking 5th Avenue a procession of motorcycles rides past in formation followed by an open top car, the occupant inside waving.
The woman reads a children’s book to the toddler in his crib followed by him walking across a carpet and falling over. He gets back up and wonder around the room again, the scene changing to him sitting on a toilet seat beside the woman. Outside the boy in a onesie with black gloves and hat pushes his pram along a path, his mother now pushes the pram along a path beside the East River, they are joined by another woman and boy who begin to play with the toddler on a promontory overlooking the river and Hell Gate Bridge in the background.
In a garden a girl in a red dress is skipping for the camera, nearby a woman pushes a small child on a swing. The girl holds and strokes a cat. Out the front of the English suburban home two women stand chatting, one of them holding the handles of a pram in which sits a small child. One of the women ties a bow in the girl’s hair. In a large garden a man and boy kick a football about, out the front of the house the boy rides a tricycle in the street. The toddler sits on a sofa reading, a woman sits next to him. He walks across the room and in his mother’s arms they dance around happily. They sit on the floor playing with toys changing to a woman opening a present revealing a handbag. She gets up off the floor and kisses a woman sitting nearby. A boy opens a present or package. Two women walk along the bank of a river, one of them pushing a pushchair. At a busy road junction one of the women adjusts the child’s clothing. They walk beside the river again.
Back in New York City three women come out of an apartment building and walk along a road. Inside a boy reads to the toddler followed by his mother feeding him. Inside Central Park the toddler walks along a path passing other visitors, his mother pulling the pushchair follows him. Three boys slide down a snowbank together watched by the woman and toddler. Inside the family apartment again the child climbs under a chair and plays with his family in the living room. He sits in his crib beside a woman who is talking to him. She gives him a drink from a small glass. Back inside Central Park the toddler and his mother walk along paths, in distance surrounding the park many large skyscraper buildings.
On the balcony of the family apartment a girl makes a snowball, on the street below people walk along paths surrounded on both sides by large mounds of snow. Snow has been cleared from the road and traffic moves freely, along another street parked cars are partly covered in snow.
The toddler smiles at the camera changes to two boys on the roof of the apartment building playing with a red balloon. Back inside the boy puts a mechanical toy on the floor and the family watches the toddler watch it move. The boy, toddler and their mother walk through a park together the boy pushing the pushchair, the film ends with the toddler walking around.
