Back on the boat a view of the Manhattan skyline including both the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. A phantom car ride along a road travelling underneath a New York subway line. Out of the shadow of the subway station walks the boy.
A man walks down a set of step away from a large ornate building, the boy walks along the pavement. The boy throws stones at seagull on grass area, a small building nearby has a sign above it that reads ‘US Army Recruiting Station’.
Back at the family apartment the boy plays with a baby which is in a playpen followed by a woman sitting in a chair feeding the child from a bottle. The family sit in their living room, the girl gestating with her hands and the boy nearby wearing a cowboy outfit.
On the street outside their apartment the doorman helps two women load a travelling basket into the back of a car. Back inside the apartment the baby plays in the bath with his toys, the woman takes him out and dries him.
An electric trolley car travels across a bridge and along a street. A man at the front points out the window, sitting nearby a boy. The trolley car passes, the destinations board reads Manhattan, Welfare Island and Queens Plaza.
From a bridge or overpass inside Central Park the woman lifts the baby from his pram. A car is parked outside the Hotel Bancroft. At a gas station outside the city an attendant speaks with a man while filling his car with petrol. Two women chat nearby, the man seen chatting with the attendant watches as he closes the bonnet of the car.
From a balcony of a house in the countryside the woman and the couple from the gas station stand chatting. They go for a walk passing mound of stones and enter a wood near the house. A man carries logs to a car, the group walk along a road through a small town and come to stand on the shoreline of a lake. An old woman points into the air with his walking stick, they all look up while walking past a large white house.
