Views follow of other decorated floats; one shows a beach scene with people in swimming costumes playing with a beach ball. The theme is to promote safety for children on holiday, the float displays the slogan ‘Mind That Child’. Behind the float a group of cyclists follow on.
Another float commemorates the charge of the light brigade, while another has a Mexican band with dancers.
Other similarly costumed figures on another float promote high speed gas, and the advent of North Sea gas supplies.
They all gather in a car park waiting for the parade to begin. The floats will also be scrutinised by judges. One float celebrates the legend of St George and the dragon.
More views follow of the dancing troupe on the Mexican themed float. The camera shows views of the other floats parked around the perimeter of car park.

Tetley the brewers have two majestic looking horses pulling a dray. A group of Scottish dancers and a pipe band pose for the camera.
The pipe band heads the parade, and it finally begins, with the Rowntrees Spanish themed costumes following immediately behind.
The film follows the parade as it passes Rowntrees Store in Scarborough and captures a folk troupe from Holland on their float, calling themselves, ‘Boggelrieders en Dannsers en Losser’
A variety of floats pass by [blurred] and balloons are released from the upper floors of Rowntrees store.
Out on the street the film captures a closer view of the Spanish characters in Rowntrees parade entry. A man walks with them carrying a placard which announces that they have won the Jaconelli memorial trophy and are best in the show.
