This film is of a garden party at Lisvane School, Scarborough. Visitors enjoy games and refreshments and some of them visit the fortune teller 'Madame Juanita'. The film begins with a brief view of a young woman sitting on a chair in the sun. The film then moves on to show the promotions manager from Rowntrees store Scarborough outside in the school garden with others. In the background a large summer house or general garden building with a veranda. Various fairground type games are set up and individuals are on hand to invite anyone to have a go at the challenges that quoits, for example might offer. For younger children, a boy gets helping hand to build up speed on a swing. General views show people congregating around stalls set up for the sale of refreshments or to participate in a game. A young girl tries her hand at quoits throwing plastic rings which are aimed to land on the target spike placed on the ground. Elsewhere a small boy enjoys an ice cream [over-exposed], and a small terrier dog gets some attention. General views show people milling around an enjoying the sideshows or sitting on the veranda overlooking the garden. In the garden a screen has a notice pinned to it a notice with name Madame Juanita written in large letters as well as the promise ‘a fortune told for one shilling’. Young boys expend some energy in a race across the lawn. Some young girls try an egg and spoon race. General views show some of the school students milling with the visitors on the lawn and veranda. One of students tries the garden swing. More general views follow of the visitors, school staff and students. ‘Madame Juanita’ reads a young man’s palm. The dog seen earlier runs towards the camera and another youngster has a go on the swing with a push from his mother. The promotions manager for Rowntrees examines Madame Juanita’s shawl. The film cuts to a phantom passenger ride in a car on a country road. A road sign shows the car heading to a village named Sledmere. Views follow of a suburban road followed by more country roads which ends the film.
