Context
The decision of Hebden Bridge Picture House to ask Yorkshire-based silent film composer Ben Burrows to compose and record a bespoke score for this short film was taken in 2019, 2 years ahead of the cinema's centenary celebrations, in order that the film could receive its premiere in 2021 as part of the Picture House's 100th birthday season.

The film has been screened at the Picture House occasionally, without a score, since 2017, when a collaboration of the Friends of the Picture House and Hebden Bridge Local History Society, had seen the film (and its companion 1925 gala film) newly digitised by YFA at 2K from original 35mm negative film. The original celluloid film was mercifully saved from a bonfire in the early 1950s by Milton Sunderland, ensuring our viewing pleasure today. Milton recalled, "It was photographed on celluloid film by “Pathe” from France at 16 frames per second by a hand operated camera. It was unable to be projected since 1928 when the machines were run at 24 frames per seconds which was “Talkies” speed." Ben Burrows worked on the score extensively over 2020 and 2021, with a live recording of the whole piece made in Summer 2021 with the Treske Ensemble. The film with score premiered at the Picture House on 11th September, 2021, with a pre-film introductory talk by Diana Monahan of Hebden Bridge Local History Society. The recording was made possible due to the support of the Friends of the Picture House.
