This film documents the visit of Princess Alexandra to lay the Foundation Stone for the extension to St. Gemma's Hospice near Leeds. The title shows a badge with 'St. Gemma's Hospice Love Knows No Limits' and 'Sisters of the Cross and Passion'. The film begins with an introduction to the Hospice. Then the Matron, Sister Mary Sloane, waits the arrival of Princess Alexandra, along with a crowd of people gathered outside the Hospice. The Princess arrives in a Rolls Royce, gets out is greeted by the Matron. Others in attendance include the Lord Mayor, councillor Eric Atkinson, and the Lady Mayoress, Sister Charlotte McNeil and Mr Patrick Kenny. We are informed that the Princess enters the Hospice and talks with some patients, before she is shown around the new construction. Accompanied by the Matron, the Princess meets Dr Ian Clark, the consultant and pain therapist, other members of staff, the architects, Peter Smith and Brian Ellesmore, and various other dignitaries before she approaches the Foundation Stone. She is followed by a Lady-in Waiting and the Lord Lieutenant. The Princess is presented with a gavel by a young boy, Andrew Clark (Dr Ian Clark's son), which she uses to tap the Foundation Stone to mark the official start of the building. She is then presented with a small bouquet of flowers by a young girl, Katie Clark (Dr Ian Clark's daughter). In the hall of the day centre Princess Alexandra speaks to more members of staff. She meets some of the patients taking part in various craft activities in a therapy room and then sees a nursery for staff children. On her way out of the hospice the Princess stops to talk to some members of the public who have gathered to see her. The Princess is then driven to Yeadon Airport, located on the outskirts of Leeds, where she is greeted by the airport director and staff. She then boards a Royal plane and the film ends watching this fly off.
