Summary The second of three camera rill shot by Dennis Wompra believed to show the movement of two large metal structures that would form part of the advanced gas-cooled reactor being installed into the Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station on the northshore of the River Tees. The first spherical structure is filmed being slowly drive off a barge and making its way towards the site of the power station. A second cylindrical metal tank or tower is filmed being moved, possibly from it’s place of construction to a dockside in readiness for transportation by barge. |

The second of three camera rill shot by Dennis Wompra believed to show the movement of two large metal structures that would form part of the advanced gas-cooled reactor being installed into the Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station on the northshore of the River Tees. The first spherical structure is filmed being slowly drive off a barge and making its way towards the site of the power station. A second cylindrical metal tank or tower is filmed being moved, possibly from it’s place of construction to a dockside in readiness for transportation by barge.
A large ‘Neptun Transport’ barge is moored at a dock area, the water is very still. A hand comes across the lens. On the barge a massive spherical structure is being slowly drive off by a low-profile caterpillar tracked vehicle. A small crowd of men stand around watching, one may give hand gestures to help the driver. In the background the partially completed Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station. From the rear of the structure the driver can be seen sitting at the controls of the caterpillar vehicles, lettering around the metal structure read ‘Construction Metallique’
The transport vehicle comes to a stop and another workman comes over with a hammer and hits some of the massive wooden blocks laid out on the ground across which the structure is driven. Sorted, the vehicle begins to move again making its way slowly though a construction site. A man twirls his finger indicating to the driver to proceed, a sign attached to the vehicle for ‘Rigging International’.
A second massive structure, this time a cylindrical metal tank or tower with additional metal tubing rests on a number of low-profile caterpillar tracked vehicles which moves slowly through a construction site towards a dock area. Now stopped along a quayside a man works high up on the structure, a second uses an acetylene torch along the quayside.
The film changes to the metal tank or tower structure being drive by three low-profile caterpillar tracked vehicles through a different construction site, the reel ends on the structire being driven slowly down a shallow incline.
