Pigeons and gulls fly-about coming into land along the Victoria Embankment as vehicles and trams travel past. Work is being carried out on the lattice steelworks of Waterloo Bridge where a crane stands atop the steel lattice of its frame. The face of the Egyptian-style sphinx on the east side of Cleopatra’s Needle, across the road the Shell Mex House. The clock on Shell Mex House reads 1.23pm. Pedestrians walk along Victoria Embankment, a man crosses at a zebra crossing waiting on a red double-decker bus to pass.
A steam tugboat passes under a bridge is followed by the gilded eagle atop the Royal Air Force Memorial along Victoria Embankment. A bus travels along Abingdon Street, in the distance Elizabeth Tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster. Back along Victoria Embankment two men stand chatting while nearby a man stands beside a series of advertising sandwich boards, one of which is he is wearing. At the northside of Westminster Bridge the bronze statue of Boadicea and Her Daughter. Nearby, a larger motorboat is moored along a jetty.
In Trafalgar Square two women and a small child feed the pigeons as waterspouts from one of the fountains. Traffic moves around the plaza, in the background the church of St Martin-in-the-Field. The face of one of the lions at the base of Nelson’s Column, in the background South Africa House and from another angle the National Portrait Gallery.
Visitors walk through St James Park near Horse Guard Parade passing by the Guards Memorial. Tables with awnings are set up in a small garden, nearby two women sit chatting on a bench beside a stonewall.
Back in Trafalgar Square the pigeon’s flap around a woman and boy who holds out their hands filled with seed. Electric trams travel along a number of roads in the city, on the Thames a steam boat passes. Both traffic and pedestrians travel along Victoria Embankment, in the background Shell Mex House again.
At the entrance of an underground station a man sells newspapers, today’s headlines being held by him on a poster. Sitting nearby a man dressed in a suit made up of mother-of-pearl button; a ‘Pearlie’. A sign for the ‘Underground’ and pedestrians walking into Charing Cross Station.
From Pall Mall East traffic moves past both the National Portrait Gallery as well as the church of St Martin-in-the-Field in the near distance. The bronze lion at the base of Nelson’s Column changes to that of the Tower of London from the river as well as from Tower Bridge where both pedestrians and traffic pass. From along the embankment Tower Bridge itself.
A small girl feeding the pigeons and being watched over by an older couple change to that of the spires atop St Bride’s church on Fleet Street, a bronze statue of a man in the foreground. Travellers come and go from Charing Cross Underground station passing a newspaper seller.
Inside London Zoo a small boy rides along a path in a small carriage being pulled by a lama. Pedestrians walks past another carriage with a family sitting inside it, the carriage departs being pulled by two miniature horses. Two keepers stand beside a camel waiting of potential riders, one man stands atop a ladder. A woman and small girl stand at the edge of a lawn areas, an older woman and small boy approach from behind her.
