On a ladder in his garden James Cameron Senior picks pears from a pear tree, the butt of a cigarette hangs down from his lips. On the ground he holds a ‘Coles’ wooden basket full of pears, he picks through them. Two full baskets of pears lay on the grass. A horse a wagon trundles along Haymarket past St Thomas the Martyr Church. A number of well dress men and women walk along the path away from the church. Views of the Armstrong Building, part of Newcastle University, along Queen Victoria Road. A car drives under The Arches, also part of Newcastle University.
