The film also features two men clearing snow from a path or track during the winter of 1940 and another group of men working in a wood cutting timber. A farm in the rural landscape. A home movie showing a family working together in a field gathering hay or grass at harvest time. Both horse-drawn and motorized vehicles are used to complete the work and the family sit together against a haystack having lunch. The film also features two men clearing snow from a path or track during the winter of 1940 and another group of men working in a wood cutting timber. A farm in the rural landscape. A man smoking a pipe rides around a field on a horse-drawn hay rake collecting bundles of freshly cut hay or grass. A second man uses a pitchfork to consolidate the bundles into stacks. A woman walks across the field carrying two baskets and a small pail, two small boys help collect the hay. A man sits along eating his lunch while a family group relax against a haystack eating sandwiches and drinking tea or soft drinks from a bottle. The meal over the two boys walk away carrying the baskets and pail. The work in the field continues with a young woman at the wheel of a tractor with front loader riding around creating bundles of hay which two men with pitchforks work into haystacks. A man now rides the tractor around the field. Title: The Snowstorm, 1940 [Colour] Two men clear a path or track of waist high snow using shovels. A pathway through the snow passes around a house and through a garden. In a wooded area a man cuts a large tree branch into sections using a mobile circular saw attached to the motor of a vehicle parked nearby. Other men assist in the operation, one holding the other end of another section of wood while the other stands beside the vehicle. The film ends on a farm building in a rural setting.
