The film begins with mainly the women setting up various tables of bric-a-brac, visitors arrive, and a female guest of honour is presented with a bouquet. Men and women wonder around the various stalls or enjoy cups of tea in a marquee. As the fete draws to a close and cups and saucers are cleaned, dried, and put away. Two women, one in a Red Cross uniform stand beside a table of bric-a-brac. They smile at the camera, one waves. With the event now underway well dress men and women walk across the field past a marquee towards the tables set up by the women near to a grove of trees.
