An amateur film that shows the market town of Richmond in North Yorkshire, the river and famous castle on a summer's day.
The film opens overlooking the river and the stone bridge that crosses it. A man, possibly Eric's brother, walks towards the camera from where the castle can be seen on the hill. The film show the stone cottages, shops, cars parked in the market square and the castle at Richmond. On one corner is the shop 'Wood and Gregoire'. A red bus is parked opposite the Yorkshire Bank and Eric walks past the camera followed by his brother walking up from the Oak Tree Hotel.
At the river two boys are fishing with small nets. They stand out on the rocks that jut out of the water as it flows past. A man and two boys wander up the winding streets towards the Castle. On their way they pass many of the shops, as they walk up a hill they are passed by three young men on scooters, the last having extra mirrors.
The Castle Notice board gives the entry cost as adult 1/-. A man and two boys walk around the remnants of the walls. The two boys hang over the side looking down on the town and the surrounding countryside. The group continue to walk around the castle and the grounds before the film closes showing the market place and the river.
