Sitting alongside a wall inside the Empire Social Club a group of older men and women sing and chat. Around the room sitting at small tables younger people sit amongst their older siblings or friends chatting. Along the bar stand a line of pint glasses full of beer, beside them trays of empty clean glasses ready for use. A man places his arms across the shoulders of two seated women, they all smile at the camera. Next to them a second man seeing the camera raises his pint of beer and puts his arm around the woman sitting next to him.
On stage ‘Ernie Wilson and his Music’ perform, the women behind the bar chat with customers. Around a table full of empty pint glasses a man sticks his thumb up at the camera as those around him continue to chat. Again, the camera moves around the room catching people drinking and chatting happily, some look up as it passes. A number of women put on their Easter bonnets.
A parade of women wearing variously decorated and colourful Easter bonnets make their way around the club passing friends and family at the tables. On stage two men compere the competition as two women come up to collect their prizes. A number of couples embrace as others sing along to a man performing on stage accompanied by Ernie Wilson on an electric keyboard. An embracing couple kiss, nearby a number of women sitting against the wall sway together along to the music. Another older couple kiss watched by a younger couple beside them. The film ends as people continue to chat and drink.
