Two couples sit against a wall chatting and drinking, a third couple sit nearby. In another part of a room two couples sit around a table playing poker, a woman looks through her cards. Around the club views show more people chatting over pints of beer.
On stage a man is presented with a silver trophy. Three men stand nearby who shake his hand, the audience applaud. Five more men come onto the stage to collect either a silver shield or small trophies, they each shake the hands of the three men. Three women come onto the stage to collect a trophies and are kissed on the cheek by each of the three men. Nine more men come on to collect their trophy and to shake hands with the three men. One of the men wears a Middlesbrough Football Club scarf which he lifts into the air, the audience applaud. The three men each take turns speaking to the audience through a microphone, everyone listens.
In a corner four women stand around playing one-armed bandit machines while in another room men play snooker. Around tables sit a number of young men drinking beer and chatting. A man holds up a trophy, and he is toasted with pints of beer. A crowd of men stand around the three men from the presentation, they pose for the camera holding bottles of beer. The men continue to drink and chat happily, some holding up their trophies to the camera.
Nearby a game if darts is being played, a number of older men stand under the television chatting. At the bar two barmaids serve drinks to a large crowd of waiting men, on a nearby table a number of older men play dominoes.
Back in the first room a group of men and women sit around a table drinking and chatting. Other groups around the room do the same, tables overflowing with empty pint glasses and beer bottles. At the bar dirty glasses are stacked high.
On stage a rock and roll band perform, its lead singer wearing a bright red jacket and playing a guitar. Couples dance in front of the stage while around the room drunken revellers sway and sing along. An older woman dances frantically waving her arms in the air while around her men and women drink and talk. More people dance on the dance floor while a group poses for the camera beside the bar. The band finish and the audience jump to their feet applaud enthusiastically.
A woman and two men come up on stage and chat with the lead singer from the band who puts his arm around the woman. Many in the audience are on their feet cheering as the band begin to play again this time with the woman singing and one of the men on bass guitar. Many in the audience are dancing, the musicians finish and leave the stage.
Around the now empty club tables are stacked high with empty pint glasses and beer bottles. On the empty stage a man comes from behind the curtain and meets up with a woman whom he embraces. A number of people leave the club, one woman carrying a bouquet. In the doorway two men shake hands before exiting the building. Back inside staff begin clearing the collection of empty glasses. Empty cigarette packets and other litter lie on the floor with more glasses and beer bottles waiting to be collected. The film ends with the barmaids stacking glasses onto the bar ready to be washed.
