Inside the Empire Social Club, a number of young women in mini-skirts parade around the room before standing together on stage. Patrons, both male and female, sit around small tables or around the edges of the room watching and chatting over drinks, mainly pints of beer.
A second group older women parade around the club also in mini-skirts and again stand together on stage. They come off and a third group of even older women in mini-skirts parade around the room. Many of these women don’t take the event seriously posing jokingly for the camera, some have simply pulled up their dresses to show large pairs of bloomers. Again, the women appear on stage, those not taking themselves seriously pose comically and dance for the watching crowd. Another group of women parade through the room, once again several them playing up for the camera.
Men and women of all ages sit around the room drinking, chatting some smoking cigarettes. The camera pans around the room with many turning to look into the lens.
Back on stage a male compere reads from notes into a microphone. In the audience a woman stands as those around her applaud. The compere speaks again and two women both wearing red outfits come onto the stage to receive their awards as those in audience watch and applaud.
Four men sit on chairs on the stage, standing behind them presumably their wives. Baby dolls are given to each of the men and a competition begins as to whom can change a nappy the fastest, the wives shouting encouragement and advice. The women in the audience watch intently smiling. A winner is found, the doll in a green dress held in the air by the compere as the audience laugh and applaud.
A younger man in a light jacket stands on the stage speaking into a microphone while at the bar a woman serves drinks to thirsty patrons. Sitting along a wall men an women of all ages look into the camera as it passes, some are drinking others singing or chatting.
A group sitting around a table clap together. A couple on stage sing, more people in the room clap along to the music. The film ends on a line of women sitting against the side wall.
