An amateur film produced by Bryan McIvor of Valentine’s day at Brunswick Bowling Alley in Billingham. Men and women of all ages enjoy each other’s company over drinks and a buffet meal. A number play games of ten-pin bowling or sit around chatting and in some cases kissing for the camera.
In a bar area men and women of various ages sit around small tables drinking and chatting happily. Many look directly at the camera smiling, a couple kiss passionately. At the bar staff work quickly serving beer and other drinks to queuing patrons.
In another room four women all wearing aprons stand behind tables filled with food, in the background people play sessions of ten-pin bowling. At one of the bowling lanes a woman sits behind an automatic scoring machine while nearby a man bowls a ball. A group sits around the bowling lane watching as another ball is bowled, a man at a scorer writes the score on a piece of paper. A large crowd gathers around the lane, some seated others standing behind. In the far lane a third ball is bowled.
People begin to fill plates with food from the buffet, nearby a man smoking a cigarette plays the piano. More drinks are consumed. Two young women both wearing the same coloured dress hold up clown masks over their faces. They lower the masks smiling at the camera.
Behind the bar three women serve drinks, a man beside them stands smiling at the camera. The man playing the piano is accompanied by another who is singing, everyone listens. A calendar behind the bar advertises ‘Guthrie's Radio Taxi's'. The date is February 1966, the 14th is highlighted.
Men and women around the room continue to enjoy their plates of food as well as their drinks. Everyone is chatting happily, one couple kiss. Behind the bar four barmaids serves drinks. People continue drinking and chatting many with their arms around each other’s shoulders. Many of them look up smiling at the camera as it passes. One woman sits on her husband’s knee.
End title: The end
The film ends on a couple kissing.
