Cars and buses travel through the narrow streets of York toward the Minister. A view follows of the Minster entrance.
On a beach a crowd watch men race around a circuit on the sand driving motorised go karts.
At Furness Shipbuilding Company at Haverton Hill two young men walk pass through the yard, on the slipway the tanker Llangorse is under construction.
From a jetty along the River Tees the Transporter Bridge is in the near distance with smoke billowing from nearby factory chimneys. A shunting engine comes along a track beside the jetty passing a wooden building.
[Colour] Views of Whitby old town and St Mary's church on top of the cliffs. Coaches are parked on a jetty near the harbour off Langbourne Road, a number of fishing trawlers are moored nearby.
A road sign reads ‘High Force’ followed by a view of the waterfall itself through the trees in the distance. Closer views show water cascading over the top.

Traffic moves along the promenade at Scarborough showing the castle on the hill. The beach is busy with visitors, a number of children ride past on donkeys. From the beach the Scarborough Lighthouse on Vincent Pier can be seen.
[B&W] An older couple stand beside a car parked in a lay-by, the woman gets in on the passenger side, traffic crosses a stone bridge.
Men in military gear take part in a Civil Defence exercise. They tend to a number of wounded laying on stretchers, a man watches their actions. Nearby a woman washes a chopping board while three others build a brick oven. Two women in uniform speaks with an older man.
A crowd gathers around a tower built from scaffolding poles, a stretcher and patients are lowered down the structure. On a showground a display of police dogs jump over fences and walk obediently with their handlers. A man runs across the field and is brought down by a dog. An older man in glasses holds up a trophy for the camera. In a spectator stand a man in mayoral chains presents the trophy to another man in uniform before making a speech.
[Colour] Two older women pose together in the front garden of a house. In the back garden a group of five men and women pose for the camera.
Beside a colourful bush two women sit on the ground, a flag flies from the tower of a nearby church. The film ends inside a different church showing a decorative stained-glass window.
