A group of men and women sit or lay together in a field chatting and enjoying a picnic. Sitting in a canoe on water a man removes his jacket, the others sit or stand along the waters-edge watching. A woman sits in the front of the canoe and the man paddles, they both look and smile at the camera.
A couple hug, the man lifting the woman into the air. Another woman sits nearby as the two begin to waltz and dance around the field, he eventually picks her up and swingers her around much to her amusement. They continue to frolic and play together.
A miniature steam train travels forwards and then backwards along a narrow-gauge track. A man stands beside a railway carriage and then beside a tunnel. On a boating lake a couple, the woman at the controls of a small motorboat that is spinning in circles. A man in another motorboat waves as he rides past.

A group of men stand together on a hill or moorland changes to show a group of men and women standing outside the ‘Royal Hotel’. A number of men walk down a busy road with cars passing. They come down a set of steps onto a boat on a river. The faces of a number of men and women one of whom smiles and laughs. From the boat on the water trees and fields followed by a number of tall houses. On land a man eating an ice cream.

Crowds line the Scotswood Road as a number of cars drive past, Queen Elizabeth waves at the crowd, beside her King George VI. The convoy of cars continues its journey.

Four boys sit on a rowing boat on a river, two of them begin to row. A man speaks to camera changes to show a group of boys running through dunes and jumping into and rolling down onto a sandy beach below. They all play together in the sand; two boys roll down the dunes. The boys sit in a line posing for the camera before racing off.
A car drives along a road past gates possibly leading into a park. On a river two boy in a canoe paddle hard watched by others standing on the far shoreline. Two men row a rowing boat, another man and boy sit at the rear. In a number of canoes boys paddle on the water, three older boys pose for the camera in their boat. Under a bush two boys play-fight, they stop and pose beside a number of other boys sitting next to them.
On a beach two boys throw stones into the sea, back at the river another two boys row past. One boy is rowing while the younger sits smoking a cigarette at the back. The boys play together in a number of boats of the river, nearby a woman waves from a rowing boat being rowed by two young men.
Boys climb out of their boat onto a jetty, three pose for the camera. A man smiles changes to boys throwing stones into the sea. A group of them, including a girl, go paddling in the water, one of them goes swimming. The group poses for the camera leaning against a wall.
In the near distance Warkworth Castle changes to a coat-of-arms hanging outside a public house in the village. Close up of the faces of three boys’ changes to Castle Street in Warkworth looking towards the castle.
On a beach a woman paddles in the sea alongside the boys seen previously who are all wearing bathing costumes. She and two of the boy’s rest against a rock as the other continue to play in the water. Some of the boys go wading through rock-pools.
Sitting in a number of boats the boys row up and down a section of river. They are all enjoying themselves, one boy waves at the camera. Close ups on the faces of a woman and several boys, the woman is helped into a boat. A group of men and boys relax against the riverbank, many are smoking cigarettes and pipes. One of the men is wearing a dog-collar. On the water again the boys have more fun in the boats racing up and down and climbing from one boat to another.
An older man in a dog-collar makes a speech to a seated crowd in front of him. A woman sits in a chair behind him listening. Another woman stands to speak followed by a younger man also in a dog-collar. A man in a cap stands in front of a microphone smiling at the camera. Two young girls and a young boy stand together on a lawn, around them other boys and girls dancing or playing on the grass.
A number of small children throw balls, possibly at of a coconut shy or equivalent. On a lawned area a group of dancers in Alpine dress performs a routine. Beside a bench four boys throw a ball, possibly a game of bowls. A man pats the head of a small boy also trying to throw a ball, a crowd stand around watching.
A group of classical musicians perform for the crowd, one woman plays a violin another a cello. Women stand around watching. Close up of the faces of two girls eating with spoons. A large crowd of children gather around a ventriloquist who is performing with his dummy from a veranda. A parade of costumed children walks past watching adults, close ups of a number of women’s faces and one mans. A woman stands beside a pram.
On a large field two young girls runs about playing, a close up of another young woman smiling. A statue or icon is carried on the backs of a number of boys wearing shirts and ties. The film ends on a man walking through a dark wood.
