Beginning in Newcastle a group of well-dressed men and women wait to board a charter bus. At a location along the way they pick up four more passengers. Arriving at Barnarad Castle they get off the bus making their way to The Golden Lion on Market Place for drinks.
A Charlton’s Charter bus is parked outside the building of G.J Mason Co (Glasgow), a group of well-dressed men and women stand around chatting. A man getting out of a car parked behind the bus is followed by a second man getting into a different car with sunroof parked in front of it. People begins to get onto the bus, a man holds a Spaniel dog on the hood of the bus.
A woman comes along a path away from a terraced house holding a wrapped package. She smiles while speaking to a man beside the bus before shaking hands with someone else on the bus. She gets on board. Two older men and an older woman come over and also get on the bus, on board people find their seats.
Across the road from a Walter Wilson’s shop on Market Place in Barnard Castle passengers begin to disembark from the bus. They stand around chatting near to the offices of the Teesdale Mercery and under the awning of the local Woolworth’s. A man takes a photograph of the person behind the camera. A woman pats the Spaniel seen previously. The group begin to make their way along Market Place heading into The Golden Lion public house.
Inside a small courtyard a statue of a bearded man, the men stand around chatting. A man looks up from a set of steps and waves at the camera. The women come through a gateway and the film ends on the group making their way down a steep set of stairs.
