Title: A Rambler's Romania
From a clock tower, a number of tourists look out on the town below. Cattle graze in fields while a man sits beside a wooden wagon, behind him a herd of cattle and a number of milk churns. A small red flower grows in the grass, nearby a thistle. A small group walks up a set of steps in a rural village. People walk along a road or track passing a number of horse-drawn wagons. A man walks along the veranda of a house, two women sit on the step of another and while one holds a baby, the other does embroidery.
An older couple works together to bake bread, the man tending the fire as the woman kneads the dough on an outdoor table, placing the loaf in the oven covered with a large cabbage leaf. The walking group gathers around as the bread comes out of the oven.
Geese feed and swim beneath a large towered building, in a street boys play football. A number of horse-drawn wagons travel along a road. A boy laying on the hay stacked high on one wagon looks at the camera.
In a field of hops men, women and children work to pick the crop pouring the contents of large wicker baskets into a funnel. The tour group walks through the field and a woman comes out of her house to sit on her colourful veranda. She smiles at the tourists. Three boys herd goats along a track and stop to speak briefly with a woman in the walking group.
In another village, an older woman walks past carrying a bundle of firewood on her shoulder. Some of the village men speak with some of the group as another horse-drawn wagon goes past.
A view of a mountain range changes to that of a loaded wagon of hay being pulled along a road by two cows. In the courtyard of a building, a man on a veranda flicks through a book watched by those in the walking group who then explore the farmstead.
A man walks along a road with a large stick on his shoulder, in a river women wash clothing by scrubbing them against flat sided rocks. A man leads a team of cattle pulling a wagon along a road. A mountainous landscape view changes to a church with detailed Christian paintings along the exterior walls. A family comes out of the church the woman carrying a baby. A man photographs an ornately painted archway leading to the church.
The group walks along a track coming to a wedding party with everyone dancing in a circle. The bride in a white veil is escorted by two women, more dancing takes place.
Walking through a wood, women walk past carrying large bundles of clothing on their heads. The group walks across a field past a farm to another church outside which a woman spins wool by hand. Inside a religious painting. The film ends on a waterwheel turning beside fruit hanging from a tree or bush.
