The second of two amateur travelogues produced by James Madden of a holiday to Poland. The focus of this film is a guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Returning to Warsaw he visits the Ghetto Hero's Monument as well as further exploring the city's history around the Old Town.
A man repairs the wooden roof of a barn, a tractor pulling a load of logs passes through a village. A woman walks up to a well. A man riding a wagon pulled by horses passes men working to strip bark from the logs seen previously.
A road sign points towards the Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau. Visitors walk around the former Nazi concentration camp listening to the guide. Brick buildings, guard towers, and barbed wire fences feature. Flowers are laid beside a concreted up entrance. A sign points visitors towards Roll Call Square and Crematorium, German writing is written above the entrance of a building. Two people read an information board placed near one of the buildings and a group is taken inside a bunk house surrounded by barbed wire fences. Inside a tower overlooking the site the guide talks and pointing out features around the camp. Below the tower, the railway tracks leading into the camp.
Back in Warsaw the Ghetto Hero's Monument, nearby a public fountain around which a small boy cycles. At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier soldiers march. In the Old Town tourists walk around making their way towards the Warsaw Barbican. Some take carriage rides around the city. At a market, a man plays a barrel organ as tourists walk along narrow streets. Cars speed past along a motorway, in the distance a church tower. Spires and tall buildings surround an urban park that includes a pond or small lake. The remainder of the film shows various sites across the city including Holy Trinity Church, the Palace of Culture and Science finishing with people walking past a number of large municipal buildings.
