Title: GOLLY on the Clyde
A tug boat pulls away and a young boy looks through a set of binoculars after it, a man stands beside him. Another Gourock -Dunoon Ferry passes in the opposite direction as the man and boy watch a gull fly overhead.
Another boy with curly hair takes a photograph, the man giving instruction on holding the camera. An optical effect turns one gull into six, the boy as well.
The ferry pulls along a dockside and the two boys climb a steep embankment for views of Dunoon below. Four boys enjoy ice creams while sitting on the grass, the man sits with them also enjoying his ice cream.
At a small circuit, one of the boys gets ready for riding a small scale motorcycle before heading off around in circles. The boy with curly hair rides around the track, the film uses the optical effect seen previously to turn him into six images.
The images fade changing to the boy sitting overlooking Dunoon Pier below with a ferry boat approaching its mooring. Views follow onboard the ferry as it pulls away from the dock, the boy looks out onto the Clyde as the ‘Sound of Shuna’ car ferry crosses the water. Gulls fly overhead again as the man and boy stand on deck together, the other boys join them. The film ends inside with the boy flicking through a comic book looking tired.
