A group of people enjoys a picnic on the lawn in front of Wallington Hall in Northumberland watching as a number of hot air balloons are inflated then lift off into the sky. Some of the picnic party wave at the camera, another filmmaker nearby points his camera towards the hot air balloons lifting off. A balloon glides over a group of older people sitting on a bench around a tree, one of them takes photograph. A crowd stands around watching men inflate a hot air balloon using large fans. One man pulls on a rope controlling the balloon as it is inflated. The older people seen previously pose near to the balloon before making their way away from Wallington.
Three boys walk along Front Street in Bamburgh, the imposing castle in the background. They make their way to St Aidan’s Church. A woman and her son come through the church gates arm in arm, the woman smiling and waving at the camera. Three women walk through the gates and meet up with the other two around the Grace Darling Memorial. More people arrive at the church and go inside where there is a stained glass window of the crucifixion. Outside again and a crowd gathers near the church entrance chatting as more come out, a woman holds a sleeping toddler in her arms.
Parishioners make their way into All Saints Hillside Church in Lobley Hill for a service. The choir along with other men in vestments walk behind a cross along the path and enter the church. Inside the congregation stand as the choir and other clergy makes their way out if the church following the service. The film ends on two men in vestments, one wearing a red cassock, shaking hands with many of the parishioners as they come out of the church
