Title: Conker Trail!
Title: Young Explorers in Lakeland
A group of young boys carry rucksacks and sit on a hillside overlooking a small lake below. Leaves on the surrounding Horse Chestnut trees are turning autumnal brown as the boys forage for conkers. String is threaded through a number of conkers as boys and men begin to play the game.
They continue their hike crossing a stream via stepping stones and walk through a wood. Red berries grow on surrounding bushes as a man speaks with a number of boys regarding his camera.
The group looks out across a valley as clouds pass overhead. A National Trust sign for Eskdale is followed by a boy crossing a fast-flowing river using stepping stones. More conkers are picked from their husks by one boy while another in a yellow hat crosses a stream again using stepping stones.
At Eskdale railway station the boys sit in a carriage of the minimum gauge Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway waiting to depart. A phantom railway journey follows passing through the rural landscape pulling briefly into The Green railway station before continuing on and then pulling into Ravenglass station.
The boys have a look around the village ending up at the harbour. Back at the station, they watch as a miniature steam locomotive revolves on a turntable. Back on board, they take a ride back to Eskdale.
Beside a stone wall, the boys pass around a can of Coca-Cola and the film ends with some of them filling their coat pockets with conkers.
