Title: Chris and the Cup!
The film begins in the grounds of Heworth Grange Comprehensive School in Gateshead and two boys sitting beside a parked car flicking through an exercise book. They are joined by a third boy followed by a group of boys chatting together.
On a football pitch, a game is underway, some of the boys seen previously lay on the grass nearby watching the match. Another group of boys cheers and whistle for their team from a small stand, others stand behind a barrier along the side of the pitch.
On the field the game continues, one team wears red and white striped shirts similar to Sunderland Association Football Club, the other team wear yellow shirts with two horizontal black stripes across the chest. Around the verge of the pitch, more boys stand waving red and white striped scarves and rosettes. Attempts at goal are made by both teams and both goalkeepers throw the ball back out onto the pitch.
A group of boys wave their red and white scarves enthusiastically as the first half comes to an end. A man, presumably the team coach, walks out onto the pitch and speaks with the team in the yellow and black strip. Orange slices are brought out onto the pitch and are consumed by players and referees.
The game gets underway again, but the view of the match quickly changes to show the team in yellow and black posing with a trophy. They are joined by a man who kneels beside them holding a ball and makes a ‘V for Victory’ sign with his right hand.
A group of girls sit nearby chatting, some of the winning team stands beside another man who presents them with a football. The boys present him with the trophy and a group of fellow pupils come over to look at it and pass it around.
The trophy is placed on the grass and four boys crowd around it posing for the camera. Their individual awards also on the grass are picked up one at a time. The film ends with the boys holding their awards and chatting.
