Title: Corbridge 1973
A brightly coloured steam-powered musical organ or calliope plays in a field near the town of Corbridge in Northumberland while nearby children ride in swing boats. A small crowd watches a man riding a miniature steam traction engine pulling a wagon and it’s passengers. The name written along the canopy of the engine reads ‘Young & Tucker AMU'.
A boy eats a toffee apple followed by views of a full-sized steam traction engine and a steam winding engine in operation. A metal plaque on the winding engine reads ‘Col. M.R.F. Courage Sutton Manor Farm’. A view of a steam roller follows which changes to two boys and a man looking over the mechanics of a miniature steam engine.
A steam traction engine from Whitley Bay goes past and a woman sells burgers and hotdogs from a stall. Nearby is s steam-powered lorry, the livery reading ‘H.P. & E. Thompson & Son Pelton Fell Chester-Le-st.’. Sitting inside a man eats a tub of ice cream. A number of young children stand behind a barrier watching the musical organ or calliope seen previously.
At a showground a series of steam traction engines slowly ride past, watching is a small girl eating a hamburger. Views of a steam-powered threshing machine nearby change to show more traction engines traveling around the showground. An old woman and small boy watch the calliope in action and a vintage fire engine drives past. A man makes candy floss from his stall and is eaten from sticks by two boys.
A large sign follows for a fairground attraction and the film ends on a small train ride traveling in a circle.
