The film begins with a group of boys walking through a snowy country landscape. Some of the boys throw snowballs. They open and make their way through a farm gate.
Some of the boys make and throw snowballs causing a snowball fight to begin with one boy being chased by another. At the end of the fight, the boys rest at the side of a cleared road talking to a man.
A metal plaque gives some history of Winters or Steng Cross Gibbet near Earlsdon, the boys keep walking towards the monument on a hill. The boys look up at the wooden head hanging from the gibbet before throwing snowballs at it.
Views of the surrounding snowy landscape show the group makes their way along a track at dusk. The film ends with two boys sitting on a rock looking out on a tarn or lake in the distance as well as the sunset.
