An amateur film produced by Sidney Coston begins with crowds watching a series of girls competing in a talent competition, part of the Shields Gazette Smiler's Club, a birthday membership club run by the local newspaper the Shields Gazette. The remainder of the film contains various views around the garden of a large detached house.
On an outdoor stage, a young girl sings into a microphone watched by a large crowd standing around her. A marquee has been set up nearby. A second girl appears on stage and performs a dance routine. As a third girl is singing a group of girls, some in costumes, come out from the marquee onto the stage standing behind her.
An older girl wearing a long cloak is helped onto the stage, she sings into the microphone. As she sings three other girls appear on stage and accompany her.
A wooden throne is set up on the stage. Fourteen girls appear on stage each holding a number standing in a line beside the throne. As each girl comes onto the stage she is introduced by a man speaking into the microphone.
Following a brief performance by two girls, a woman presents a number of small trophies to some of the girls. The one seen previously in the gown sits on the throne holding her number; nine. The woman passes on a number of additional trophies to some of the girls standing beside the stage area. The event ends and people begin to leave.
The remainder of the films shows various views of a decorative front and rear garden of a large house. A rock-garden has been created at the front, a car is parked beside a large garage. In the rear flowers, and trees blossom. Over the fence a town in the distance and a wood. A number of garden ornaments are set up and filmed.
Later in the year a couple stands beside a summerhouse and walk through a long greenhouse. Apples grow in an orchard.
A number of large fish, possibly Coy, swim in a pond with a man and two small children stand nearby.
