This amateur film shows children from the Percy Hedley School in Newcastle on holiday in Spain. The children and some of the staff who have traveled with them play on the beach, and a small group of children go for a pedalo ride on the sea. They also enjoy meals outside and chat amongst themselves informally. The film opens showing a group of people bathing in the sea, the film immediately moves on to a group of boys playing in sand on the beach. They are piling sand around one of their companions who has presumably volunteered for the experience. The film cuts to three of the school pupils on a pedalo out at sea. In the background on land, a number of high-rise apartment blocks can be seen. A change of location follows as a number of children sit outside in groups in the shade of some trees eating snacks from a table. Two staff members bring down some food, possibly fruit, on plates and give it to a group of boys sitting at one of the tables. Above them on a veranda, some girls wave at the camera a boy wearing a green spotted hat comes to join them. Down in the garden area, a boy kicks a football against a perimeter wall. The film then shows another boy coming out on the veranda to watch what his friend is doing. A change of scene follows as a man helps himself to some food from a large round dish. He scoops portions with a spoon and puts them on a plate he’s carrying. He gives the plate to a woman sitting at a table nearby with some of the children. The plate is passed along the table where another woman puts it in front of one of the girls. More food is served and passed down the line of children at the table. General views follow of the children enjoying their meal. The location moves back to the seaside, and members of the school group explore a rocky area next to the sea. A general view follows showing rocky hills running down to open water. Exploring among the rocks a boy with his fishing net has found a rock pool. He and a couple of friends nearby stare into it. The boy dips his fishing net in the pool as his friends watch. The film moves on to a view of open sea beyond the rocks then cuts to a view of a number sailing craft moored near a quayside. The film ends as the camera continues to move on showing a slipway with a boat possibly under construction, and other buildings nearby.
