This amateur film features a young girl with cerebral palsy at the Percy Hedley School in Newcastle and also groups of the other pupils
The film opens as two boys move a large wooden box across a lawn with the aid of a trolley or old pram frame.
Outside on a paved area near school classrooms, a young girl sits alone on a wooden chair. She stands up and walks towards the camera. A different view follows at the same location as she walks towards the camera. Another change of view follows as she walks across the view of the camera, back towards her chair and she sits down.
A view of the same girl who now has a table in front of her, she leans forward with her elbows on the table and smiles at the camera.
She then eats a snack using a bowl and spoon with a cup nearby. She takes a drink from a cup, and continues eating. She takes another drink, then gets up from her chair and leaves the table and walks along the paved area away from the camera as she did before. She walks past a couple of other children in wheelchairs.
A group of young women pose for the camera. A couple use walking frames to steady themselves, one sits in a wheelchair. One older woman perhaps a member of staff holds a still camera after a brief conversation she hands the camera to a colleague. She joins the group to have a photograph taken.
The film cuts to boy sitting in a chair on the paved walkway. The chair has a tray and runs on small castors. A close up of the boy smiling follows, then the film cuts back to the group of girls, one girl chases another back into the classroom building.
A boy walks out of the building and walks over to the boy in the wheelchair. On the nearby lawn another boy kicks a ball about.
The film cuts back to a few of the group of girls seen earlier. One with the aid of a walking frame walks back towards the nearby entrance to the classroom building.
One of the staff members seen earlier walks over to the young boy in the wheelchair. She maneuvers him nearer to the building as a boy using a walking frame comes to join them. A larger group is now gathered and the film ends as they pose for the camera.
