This is a film of Mr and Mrs Dickinson Sr., just after their wedding, and a tour of places in Yorkshire, especially York. (The film is often dark, out of focus and jumpy.)
The film opens in the countryside with a woman walking in front of a stone bridge over a river, followed by a bearded man, Mr Dickinson Jr., walking towards the camera. There is snow on top of the hills. They then go on a car journey, passing a river with many boats. The film switches to a wedding of a middle aged couple, the filmmaker's father. The family and guests line up to pose for photographs in the street. The guests stand around talking, and then the newlyweds get into a car for their honeymoon. Some ducks feast on the remains of some of the wedding food. Inside the Dickinson house, the film shows the Rowntree display and other items, including many pictures of cats.
The film switches again to show narrow boats and other boats on the River Ouse in York, showing Scarborough Railway Bridge. Next the family visit St Mary's Abbey and the Museum Gardens in York, before going to the Minster and other historic places in and around York (the film is dark, out of focus and very jumpy). They then visit Brimham Rocks. The newlywed couple stand by the sign for Middlecave Road in Malton, where they go for a wander.
They are next filming from the front of a bus going to through the countryside, switching to the front of a car. They couple pose in front of a church and walk along a stream, past a timber yard and lots of grouse. They arrive in a village and visit the ruins at Helmsley Castle. They later visit York Minster, filming the surrounding area from the top, before filming many of the other historic places in York, with the streets remarkably empty.
