All denominations were present and included, Canon A.G.Hardie, Vicar of Halifax, Rev. Ian W. Lewis O.B.E. (Minister of the new church) Rev. Scadeng Cheshire (Circuit Superintendant) Rev. Cyril Wainwright, (Chairman of the Methodist West Yorkshire District).
The film opens with a large crowd gathered in the streets around the church foundation site. Everyone in the crowd is holding a piece of paper most likely with a prayer or hymn on it for the upcoming ceremony. A group of clergymen begin to process in towards the foundation also all holding a sheet of paper. There is a stage set up in the middle of the construction site equipped large speakers. A few of the clergymen process onto the stage to lead the ceremony while the rest are gathered around close by. The clergymen lead the crowd in a prayer and blessing for the laying of the foundation stone. Next to the site, there is a sign which reads Methodist Church Youth Centre. Foundation stone was laid by Dr. Dorothy Farrar of Halifax and Vice Principal of Wesley Deaconess College, Ilkley. After a shot of the construction vehicles children from the crowd gather around the foundation stone and pose for a few pictures.
