Title-A Ramsden Film
Title-Sea Fever
The film opens with a map of Solway Firth Kirkcudbright and views of the harbour. A poster shows that the Solway Yacht Club Regatta is taking place that day.
People of all ages, genders and sizes wash boats and attach the sails and rudders before getting them fully ready to bring them down to the sea.
Groups of people then lift the boats off trailers and set them down in the water. There are many competitors getting ready for the race including children who will sail in smaller boats.
The race begins, and the camera follows the boats as they make their ways to buoys that have been placed in the water. The boats navigate around the buoys and sail further on. Back on the shore the spectators watch the race. Some of them use binoculars.
The race organisers use miniature canons to signal the start of each race.
At the end of the race, prizes are awarded. The competitors then socialise with one another as the boats are pulled in. The sails are taken down and folded, rudders removed, and people pack up and leave. The film closes with views of the harbour at dusk.
Title-The End.
