Outside the family home Mr Hickling's son Alfred sits on a chair. He wears a naval uniform. His two sisters join him and sit on each knee, and they all pose for the camera. Later Alfred and his then girlfriend come out of the house together. They pose for the camera Alfred is still in his naval uniform. Outside another house a church tea party takes place in a large garden where a group of mainly women and children stand. Behind a table sit a vicar with some ladies all in smart clothes. They give out prizes before a vicar makes a speech. Afterwards in turn a girl and boy go up and give bouquets to the women. A women walks with cakes across the lawn, then two other women carry trays. Then the girls start to do country dancing before they move to the maypole. The girls dance around holding onto the ribbons whilst boys sit around the bottom of the pole. The film closes at a farm where farm animals and men moving large hay bales are seen.
