There is a poster for the Sports Day (the other writing is too feint to make out). The sports day begins with a children’s fancy dress competition, showing many of the competitors close up. Then there is a line of children on decorated tricycles. This is followed by some sprint races and a sack race. Parents sit around the side of the field, and a man, presumably the head teacher, makes a speech.
Intertitle – “Please queue at the tent”
There is a queue of adults and children, whilst others sit on the grass. One couple sit at a table eating and drinking. There is a strange adult race, presumably husbands and wives, which involves the women having to step on pieces of timber which are moved along by men on their knees. Then three men stand at a table in front of the assembled crowd and read out the winners.
Intertitle – Clayton Parents and Teachers Association.
The film returns to show more of the children in fancy dress, and teachers and parents sit on the grass. There is a stall with old tea urns providing tea. There is more of the crazy husband and wife team race, and of prizes being given out. At the end someone counts up the day’s takings on a table.
