Cawthorne Carnival 1971: The film opens with a clear shot of a steam roller pulling a float with children in fancy dress. This is followed by shots of the crowd that has turned out for the day. Close-ups show Father Christmas, a windmill that spins- Dutch dressed girls and toddlers stand below it. Moving on the camera captures in a variety of shots a parade of majorettes, a brass band, dignitaries and the floats that follow them.
