Summary This humorous commercial film is extremely competent in terms of technical production, and features the chimpanzees performing slapstick comedy routines in a similar vein to Charlie Chaplin. The narrative centres on a family (chimps play the roles of mother, father and their son) as they look for a new apartment. They stumble across the perfect place, however there is only one catch - the apartment does not allow children. |

Title - Monkey business.
Chimpanzees dressed in suits, hats and dresses walk up to a small set of steps. A close up of a sign reads 'Apartments for rent. No children allowed'. The father chimpanzee looks at his son who carries a bag.
Title - Come on junior into the bag.
The son chimpanzee hops into the bag, which the father proceeds to drag up the steps and into the building. Reaching the desk the chimpanzees ring a bell repeatedly. A manager chimpanzee wearing a suit appears from behind the desk, and sets his cigarette down.
Title - So have you any apartments?
The Chimpanzee behind the desk nods.
Tittle - Of course. I'll get the key.
The manager chimpanzee goes to find the key, while the father chimp accidentally knocks the cigarette into the bag, which smokes heavily. The chimps try to put out the fire with a jug of water. The manager returns with the key and watches as the bag begins to move.
Title - What's wrong with the baggage?
The father chimp retrieves the bag.
Title - O.K. I'll show you the way.
The chimps are led to their new apartment.
Title - This is the best apartment but remember - No children allowed.
The desk Chimpanzee leaves and the son gets out of the bag.
Title - Now just you behave while we're out shopping.
The mother and father leave, and there is a montage of the son messing up the apartment. The manager then gets stuck in a picture frame thanks to the son's shenanigans.
Title -What's going on here? I'm all framed up.
The manager goes up to the apartment and starts chasing junior around the building. The mother and father return to find the wrecked lobby.
Title - Looks like Junior's handiwork.
They then walk into their apartment which is a complete mess.
Title - Yes, that's his work alright.
Junior walks up to his mother and father.
Title - We're in a terrible mess now, son.
They continue to talk.
Title - How are we going to get out of here?
A shot shows the mother talking.
Title - Wait I have an idea.
The manager comes up to the mother, who is now many feet taller and disguised wearing a large trench coat and bonnet.
Title - And who are you.
Close up of the mother.
Title - Why, I'm Mrs Longbeach.
The tall mother walks unsteadily into the lobby with the manger following her. There are then shots of the father and son hidden away in the trench coat. The three of them quickly leave the hotel still in disguise.
Title - Goodbye, well it's been swell knowing you.
The manager shouts as the family teeter down the street.
Title - The end. A Walton film release.
