Title - East Anglia
The sequence begins with a woman standing outside a shop called 'Agatha Crustys', and the voice over states that this is Kings Lynn, before proceeding to give some history of the town. The filmmaker shows several shots of streets bustling with cars and pedestrians. There is then an exterior view of an old cathedral and shots inside the cathedral, where the voice over remarks St. Margaret's flower festival is taking place.
A street sign then reads 'Swaffham' and there is a close up of a plaque which reads 'Ye peddlar of Swaffham who did by a dream find a great treasure'. This is followed by views of Swaffham streets and a shot of St. Peter and St. Paul's church.
The next sequence begins with a Street sign 'South Pickenham', and there are views of various cottages, and voice over states that one particular cottage is where the filmmaker stayed. An old church with a tower is next shown, before there is a shot of a street with a sign that reads 'Downhammarket'. One particular street has a cast iron neo gothic clock tower, and a close up reveals a plaque stating 'Presented to the town by James Scott 1878'. A horse and cart travel down a road, and then a large crowd has gathered in a field to watch parachutists land.
The gates at Sandringham royal estate, Norfolk, are next, and there are views of the estate itself, followed by the surrounding grounds. Norwich streets are then captured by the filmmaker and these views include churches, a market place and a grand cathedral. The sequence ends with views of a park with wild flowers, shrubs and visitors exploring.
Now in Cambridge, the various colleges are shown, and a lingering shot captures Kings College. There are several views of the River Cam, before the action moves to a wildlife park, and there are shots of deer, flamencos, and buffalo. The town of Eley is the next destination and filmmaker pays close attention to a cathedral. Last shots feature Peterborough, and include its grand cathedral and the modern town centre.
