After the opening titles, shots of all the nations' flags of the world are on tall poles. This cuts to three gliders in the sky.
A good shot taken from a plane in the sky of a glider flies past and around the camera. From the ground, the cameraman looks up at the gliders as people in front look up watching.
A field is being used as a take-off strip, a glider runs down the runway as men in green jumpsuits help push it along before it takes off. This cuts to a white glider taking off, the camera follows it as it goes up into the sky and flies around.
On the ground, there are close ups shots of an orange glider parked up, followed by shots of other gliders. Filmed from a plane in the sky, the camera follows two gliders in front. Back on the ground, a long shot taken from on top of a hill looks out over at the views. A crumbled wall sits on the edge of the hill; a child is leaning against it. There are clear views of the surrounding countryside and sky as gliders fly around.
The gliders are inspected by pilots, and they then put on their jumpsuits. A long shot shows all the multi coloured gliders, tractors help tow them out. A white glider tries to take off but it stops abruptly half way down the runway. A montage of clips follows, taken from shots in the sky and looking up at the gliders.
On the ground, a boy sits in a mock glider pretending to fly it as it moves around. There are more shots of gliders from ground followed by scenes of men and tractors tugging the gliders. Men and women walk around inspecting the gliders. The film closes with a scene of the nations' flags as gliders fly past them.
