This film is a collection of a number of Northern Cricket Society dinners which took place during 1951-1952. The film includes footage of the players and their wives at the dinners as well as a special dinner with the Indian Cricket team and the annual Boxing Day Match at Bramhope.

A few speeches are given at the dinner, and the tables are lined with men and women who are drinking and smoking while they listen to the speeches.

Title - Yorkshire Captains Dinner November 1951
The annual dinner is held at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, and the tables in the hall are lined with men and women from the Cricket Society. Waitresses can be seen in the background as they begin to serve the meal. Everyone appears to be having a good time as they chat and smile. The room is packed with tables, and a few of the Captains give speeches during the dinner.
Title - June 1952 Dinner to the Indian Cricketers
The NCS welcomes the Indian touring team of 1952. All shots are internal of the Queens Hotel Leeds. The sportsmen are shown eating their dinner and chatting to other cricketers. There are good shots of waitresses serving over 200 people in attendance. Cricketers include: Vijay Laxman Manjrekar, Nawad of Pataudi (?), Bill Bowes (Yorkshire Post journalist and Yorkshire cricketer), and Eric Bedser. The speaker for the evening was the actor Trevor Howard. There are good shots of Trevor Howard as well as many of the other speakers at the event including members of the Indian team. Everyone in attendance appears to be having a good time as they smile and chat away. Many people are smoking cigarettes at the table during the different courses.
Title - Queens Hotel, September 1952. Cricket Society Dinner
The long tables are arranged in the dining hall, and men and women are seated all along the tables. Close ups of famous cricketers include Norman Yardley and Brian Sellars. The entertainment is by the music hall artist Robertson Hare whose catch phrase was "What a calamity." Waitresses begin to serve the guests, and some of the footage is taken from a slightly elevated position giving a view of the entire hall. There are shots of individuals at the tables, and speeches are given at the front of the room with the aid of a microphone. There is a photographer/reporter present, and after dinner, all the guests walking around and mingle in the hotel.
Title - Boxing Day Cricket Bramhope 1952
The final scene is of the annual Boxing Day match and features Don Wilson and Brian Close. The men make their way out of the pavilion and onto the field. Spectators are gathered in the pavilion and around the field. They are all dressed in long winter coats to watch the game on this cold and grey winter day. Much of the action is taken close to the players on the field, focusing on the batter and bowler. There are also shots of the batters as they make their way off the field. The whole team comes in, and the next inning begins. The film closes with a dinner following the game.
