Title - In this instructional film the Shotfirer will be working at demonstration speed throughout. He will follow a drill which conforms completely with the Regulations on shotfiring in Part II mines and with codes of good practice.
Title - Part 4 Single Shot Miss-Fires
Using narration, it is explained throughout the film what is happening. Starting with a close up of a shotfirer in a pit, it first demonstrates what to do if it fails to go off. The miner, in an attempt to rule out the possible faults, finds another miner who is shotfiring. Using his wires they connect it up but it still fails to go off. They try attaching the wires to a different charger.
If this fails too then the miners drill another hole 12 inch from the failed shotfire. They load the hole as normal and fire. When the wall explodes, the miners search for the unfired detonators and then put them in the tubs to send back to the surface which then gets checked for faults.
