This is a short film that commemorates 40 years of the York Co-Operative Players group. The film highlights the achievements and awards they have won in their history whilst showing silent highlights of a production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
The film shows a stage production of the famous Edward Albee play in close up and from an audience point of view whilst a commentary narrates aspects of the Players' history. This includes winning various amateur dramatic awards and beating many of the competitors in Yorkshire and the North of England. The commentary then mentions rehearsals at Micklegate in York, before noting that several ex-Players have gone on to become professional actors, including John Golightly and Stephen Buckley.
