A York-based filmmaker follows a man called 'Doug' as he tours the famous city of York, showing off its historical architecture and popular tourist attractions.
'Doug' exits York Railway Station before a panning shot shows the York Minster above the city walls in the distance. In closer proximity to the Minster, the filmmaker captures one of the scaffolding clad walls of the gothic cathedral.
The camera follows 'Doug' and shows the great Cathedral from his point of view, capturing the famous North Tower. Moving on, the Shambles is then shown and there are various close ups of the shop signs: 'The Austin Hayes gallery', 'R&P. Cairns - Court Hairdressers' and 'York Weavers'.
The man then walks up to a policeman and chats with him, before heading off to the Castle Museum and Clifford's Tower. A shot then lingers on a building with several cat statuettes adorning its wall. The final passage displays the busy city centre and Bootham Bar.
