Title – An Area Meeting of Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Cubs, Brownies in Batley Park This well-shot sequence captures the groups of children in the park, firstly in long shot before moving in to show them in their swimming costumes having fun.  A static shot of cubs holding flags can be seen before continuing to show the Scouts flying St Georges Cross and Union Jack flags. We see the guides in static shots as they parade in front of a huge crowd of spectators before the camera zooms back to show all the groups and a lake surrounded by people. Title – Canoeing Slalom on the River at West Tanfield  This section features the action of the race.  Panning shots show each competitor as they move down the river negotiating the rock and riverbanks.  There is also footage of the surrounding field and tents that have been set up for the canoeists end the film.
